What makes you sure you can accomplish your goals? What gives you that spark where you know you can accomplish anything? For me, my mindset was solidified in knowing Bill Purdy. When I first met him, Essence of Energy was not even a thought yet, but the framework for what came to be was definitely well established. I met Bill as a teenager in high school. I was fascinated with the sport of bodybuilding, but knew nothing of the work and discipline required to become great at the sport. With Bill’s help, I laid down a concentrated plan of action. I took deliberate actions, I worked out religiously, sculpting my muscles to look the way I wanted. I ate for proper recovery. Most importantly, I conversed with Bill through my whole show prep in order to find guidance. With his assistance I developed a mental fortitude I previously lacked. The road to my competition was plagued with many obstacles, but under Bill’s tutelage, I organized myself mentally into a more disciplined and determined person and learned how to tackle the big obstacles in my life through learning about myself and fortifying my own inner strength to overcome my challenges that face me.
