One of the most successful people in television history, she has made herself a billionaire and has changed millions of lives. But it was a long journey to get to that point. She was born to an unwed teenage mother, raised by her grandmother on a poor farm in Mississippi. She was sexually abused by members of her family, finally she moved away and moved in with her father. This is where her life began to change, her father was strict and expected the most out of her. Oprah excelled in school and earned a scholarship to Tennessee State University, there she found her passion which was reporting and anchoring. After a few years of anchoring she was approached to do her own talk show in Chicago, later becoming the Oprah Winfrey show. The show became a national hit and gained worldwide recognition. While doing her own show, Oprah was never satisfied, she started her own production company which later bought her show. Eventually she formed her own network and is still striving for more out of life. She has given millions of dollars away and has influenced millions of lives. Always with a smile on her face.
