Sunday Success Story: Walt Disney
Sunday Success Story
Growing up as a kid or even an adult with their inner kid Disneyland was the ultimate destination. A place where dreams come true and you can truly be a kid. A multi-billion dollar company that has produced countless movies as well as several iconic characters. Just like any other empire Disney had its humble beginnings. Walt Disney as a young man worked in a factory to pay for his education at a fine arts academy in which he had a burning passion to become a cartoonist. He was later fired from a newspaper for “lacking imagination”. Undeterred he continued to chase his dream of becoming a great cartoonist. Out of money and on a train ride home he came up with the idea for Mickey Mouse. From there he continued to build his empire, adding characters and expending in every avenue he possibly could. He fought for his ultimate prize Disneyland in the swamps of Florida, being turned down 302 times for the idea. Eventually getting his wish, Disneyland was built and became a tourist attraction worldwide. Since then Disney has changed millions of children’s lives and has continued to grow to this very day, stronger than ever. It all started with a mouse and the ambition of one man, never wavering from what he wanted to achieve. Now Disney is a household name that bring happiness to millions of people.
