Training Intensity

When we go into the weight room and begin to train the intensity that we train with determines the results that we achieve with our training. While high intensity usually yields us the best results for burning body fat and packing on pounds of muscle but there is a ceiling to a high intensity training regimen. The key to maximizing every one of your workouts is to stimulate the muscles being worked, not annihilate them. Overtraining the muscle should be used sparingly because it increases the risk of injury. We must create a mind-muscle connection with each exercise that is performed, by doing this each set is slowly laying the foundation of shaping the muscle to attain a desired goal. Certain intensity techniques such as drop sets, supersets and rest pauses can boost training intensity as well. Proper recovery after each training session is absolutely essential, it keeps our energy levels on a consistent level. Listening to the body is key to making the most of each workout and each rest day. Remember that your fitness goals are a journey and not a sprint, great things take time. Understand how your body responds to intensity and you will have better results with your workouts.
