Sunday Success Story: Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill was one of those leaders that comes around once every century. He led Britain though World War 2 against overwhelming odds, eventually helping to win the war. He was in politics for over fifty years, holding several positions in British parliament including Prime Minister. He served as First Lord of the Admiralty during the First World War until a disastrous campaign of Gallipoli in 1915, in which Churchill was relieved of his duties. He stayed active in politics, eventually becoming Prime Minister at the outbreak of World War 2. During this time the British Expeditionary force had been driven out of France at the defeat of Dunkirk. An invasion from Nazi Germany was imminent, during the battle of Britain, Churchill kept the morale of his people high, and he would never surrender his country to the Germans. Churchill was persistent, eventually gaining the support of the Americans to turn the tide of the Second World War. He was a passionate statesman who cared for the wellbeing of his country. His life’s accomplishments should inspire anyone to greatness.
