Dropsets
Dropsets are a training intensity technique that can be used to help shock your muscles into new growth. Dropsets are doing as many reps as you can until failure, then lightening the weight and performing more reps, the common drop for this is 2-3 times. Dropsets are good to use on the last set of an exercise to fatigue the muscle even more. They should be used sparingly, otherwise they lose their effectiveness as an intensity techniques. Dropsets can be used in just about any form of exercise, stripping barbells, also going down in weight with either dumbbells or machines. A sample dropset routine would be:
Cable curls 1 set of 12 reps (last set of the exercise)
Drop the weight 5-10 lbs, perform 6-8 more reps
Drop the weight 5-10 lbs again, perform 6-8 reps
Drop the weight 10 lbs again, perform 6-8 reps.
